3 Reasons Why I Started Unibound

1. Making a Positive and Lasting Impact
AI is the most powerful technology we’ve ever created. Intelligence has always been humanity’s greatest asset—and for the first time, it’s being democratized.
It has the potential to elevate us as a species, or destroy us.
I didn’t want to stand by and watch history unfold. I wanted to shape it.
Unibound is my way of being part of this transformation, helping steer it toward progress, not paralysis.
2. Reaching My Full Potential
Since I was young, I’ve questioned our purpose. I’ve always believed it’s to become the best version of ourselves—to realize our potential fully.
Our identity may change with time, but our essence stays the same. Nietzsche’s idea of the Übermensch—transcending our limits to create meaning—resonated deeply with me.
Humans are capable of extraordinary things. To waste that potential would be a disservice to life itself.
Unibound is my vessel for that pursuit. A way to build, to learn, to grow, and to express that belief through work that matters.
3. Autonomy
Freedom has always been non-negotiable for me.
That doesn’t mean not working, it means choosing what, where, and with whom I work.
I love building systems. I love collaborating with smart, value-driven people. But I don’t believe in trading time for permission.
We live in the first era where it’s possible to work from anywhere, with anyone, while staying true to what we believe in.
Unibound is an expression of that autonomy. A company built for creators, builders, and thinkers who want to live and work on their own terms.
Of course, I want to build a successful business, earn money, and enjoy life. But I believe this to be a by-product of doing something meaningful that others value.
It’s ikigai - the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.
Outside work, I surf, read (watch youtube summaries of books), play the guitar, and spend time with the people I love.
That’s the balance I want to protect, for myself and for others who believe the same.
So yes, I left a profitable software agency to start Unibound. Not because I had to, but because I couldn’t not.
How AI Fits Into All This
AI can create enormous impact. When we automate what machines can do better, we reclaim time for what truly matters.
That’s what autonomy looks like on a global scale, machines uplifting the baseline so humans can focus on meaning.
The real risks aren’t “Terminator” scenarios.
They’re near-term issues: job displacement, widening wealth gaps, and structural inequality.
We’ll need new systems, perhaps an automation tax or universal basic income, to balance the shift.
Long-term, we’ll need to confront something even deeper: human greed.
I’m not a politician. So I'll leave these policies to the professionals.
For me, if Unibound can make work more meaningful, more human, and more free, then that's the work I choose to do.
